Pam Foster - I am so happy to have the opportunity to view this course and be able to go back and reference it at any time. Full of important information from a good studio set up to getting the business legally set up and much more. Sally Terry is thorough, enjoyable to listen to and gives the right information to help you become professional and have a successful longarming business.

Sally Terry is not only a great quilting teacher (I personally took classes from her), but she is also a smart businesswoman. This course explained, in detail, how to start your own longarm quilting business. She covered everything from taking in a quilt, pricing, building your business and marketing. Thanks, Sally!

MQS Show in Wichita KS offered so much

The MQS Wichita Kansas Quilt Show had so much going on.

Bigger booths, nice layout and of course the quilts were outstanding. For those of you who won ribbons, congratulations to you all.

I found the students soooo eager to get to the classes....I felt I was the one coming in the door late.

A special thank you of course to Linda Hamson, Mary Hibbs, and Leslie for their devotion. See you next year.

The MQS School of Business Classes (I remember teaching 3 or was it 4?) were full of very savvy entrepreneurs, the questions are were all excellent and on such a high level that they came very prepared. I think much of that is from the MQS School of Business Classes they continue to offer. A special business luncheon was give to those serious professional long arm business individuals who took so many classes. Very nice Linda! Thank you!

If you are looking to start your professional long arm business look to their offerings in 2015, as their focus on your success grows.

Business Use Mobile In Daily Workplace Applications

Again, we can all see it coming. Whoever gets there first in their customer's mind wins.

Found this interesting article on how businesses are adopting mobile for their employees as part of their every day work applications. It is an interesting read.

"Companies now know they must adapt to a mobile and cloud world; those that don’t will simply fall behind and fade away. From http://www.iphoneeinstein.com/2014/04/05/these-three-trends-will-transform-how-employees-use-their-phones/

Let's talk how it can improve your business.

Mobile Media If Your Are In You WIN

Once more you may find it frightening to think you have to change. The old way of traditional marketing is truly gone and it is not gone because all the businesses are going to mobile instead of relying heavily on emails, newsletters and direct mail. It is because mobile messaging, mobile media with a mobile responsive website are being driven by the CONSUMER.

If you go where your consumer is, you WIN.

Why Did The QR Code Go Away On My Lay's Potato Chip Bag?

When you look at the back of a Lay's Kettle Chip bag, you find the QR Code missing. It was sadly before its time and now it is gone for now from the potato chip bag in my pantry.

But it instead of eliminating a way to connect with their customers it has been replaced by a Short Code. A shortened phone number so customers text a word to their Short Code and presto ...they are easily connected by a text message.

It is happening so fast...that you could look at it as a standard of media marketing not just a new way to advertise.

There are only so many slots in your customer's way of communicating. When do you think you want to take one of the available slots, therefore pushing out your competition?

Who ever gets there first wins.

To your business success, Sally

Small Business Spends Small Dollar For Big Return

For the longest time we did business the old fashion way...by mail or postcard, even newspaper advertising. When was the last time you even used the Yellow Pages Phone Book? The old way is no longer working and way to expensive, due to the drop in subscribers and printing plus postage costs.

Now we have a way to reach all our customers, personally in this Customer Engagement Economy by texting to their smartphones.

Are you one of the 80% of small businesses that knows they have to go mobile in the next 2 years?

More later...we all need to be thinking about how we engage our customer.

To your success, Sally Terry
